ENGINEERING DESIGN SHOW REVIEW

Team PROTEX was out and about last week attending the Engineering Design Show at the Ricoh Area in Coventry. This innovative show is the UK’s must-attend event for engineering, electronics and embedded design.

We’re pleased to report that many of the design engineers who visited our stand over the two day event were extremely impressed with the range and diversity of the over-centre fasteners, toggle-latches and other assorted hardware we manufacture from our base in Redditch, Worcestershire.

They were also delighted to discover that they can download 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for most of the parts we supply, directly from our website. Design engineers viewed this as an extremely valuable resource as it means they do not have to spend extra time modelling up component parts to insert into their technical designs. Machine builders who visited the stand were pleased to find PROTEX has a latch that satisfies the CE regulations regarding machine guarding. Our 39-1260 draw-latch comes with a safety catch that cannot be simply opened by hand. Instead, it requires the intentional use of a screwdriver, coin or similar implement to release it.

Importantly, the safety catch feature protects against accidental opening and possible injury. If you, like many of our show visitors require this type of latch click here.

Overall, the Engineering Design Show 2017 was a pretty successful show for PROTEX and we look forward to following up on the many new enquires generated. Above all, the team agreed that it was great to showcase so many of our parts to visitors who appreciate a well-engineered and top quality product!
